Friday’s Feast Number 17

I think I’m always the last person to join the Feast…but better late than never, right?

Appetizer
What was your favorite cartoon when you were a child?

Oh this is easy. My favorite was Casper the Friendly Ghost! He was so sweet, and always into mischief. I love love LOVED me some Casper!

Soup
Pretend you are about to get a new pet.  Which animal would you pick, and what would you name it?

I want a Pit Bull! Her name would be Dasia, which means Gift of God (or maybe Dayanara which means Husband Slayer or Destroyer. I dunno, it’s a toss-up.)

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy getting all dressed up for a special occasion?

Hmmm. I think most women have a little princess in them and enjoy getting all dolled up for a party or other special occasion. I think I’d have to say 8. I really enjoy dressing up and primping and feeling pretty, but I don’t think I’d like to do it all the time.

Main Course
What kind of music do you listen to while you drive?

That depends. If I’m not in a hurry and I’m just out for a drive, I like to listen to older music like Journey, Kansas, Christopher Cross etc.. On the way to work in the morning when I’m usually in a hurry and also in need of a brain-boost I listen to a radio station that plays Top 40 and Hip Hop. If I’m rushing or feeling hyper I like to listen to metal or rock. (Today was one of those days! The song Coming Undone by Korn was on, and I absolutely LOVE that song!)

Dessert
When was the last time you bought a clock?  And in which room did you put it?

A clock? Hahaha! I own one clock…I’ve had it for about 4 years and I’m not sure it even works! It hasn’t been plugged in since I moved into my apartment in January. I rely on my watch, the clock on my computer, and my cell phone to keep up with the time. (Maybe that’s why I’m late everywhere?)

Since I mentioned this song…I must must MUST post it since I like it so much. I know it’s not for everyone…but it’s a good “traffic jam” for me.

I almost forgot about the Feast! It’s a little after midnight….but I’m here anyway. :)

Appetizer
Name something you would categorize as weird.

People that visit a foreign country, or live there for a while…and pick up the native accent. (ie. Madonna) That’s just so…strange! Fake!

Soup
What color was the last piece of food you ate?

Brown. I went out to eat with Sara…we ate at On The Border. Dessert was a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. SO not on the Weight Watchers plan!

Salad
On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how much do you enjoy being alone?

Meh. I guess it depends on the time of day…or week…or month. 5.

Main Course
Fill in the blank: I will _________ vote for ___________ in _______.

I will NOT vote for HILARY CLINTON in 2008!!!

Dessert
Describe your sleeping habits.

Yum! I love this dessert! I love to sleep! On weekends I try to sleep at least 10 hours a night. I love afternoon naps on weekend days, and relaxing and doing as little as possible. During the week…it seems there aren’t enough hours in the day. I stay up too late, sleep too little, and then I’m grumpy at work. :(   (Sometimes…if I’m REALLY lucky, I catch a nap on my lunch break, and those are great.)

Happy Weekend everyone!

There wasn’t a Feast last Friday, but she’s back this week! I didn’t want to try to do this from work today, so excuse my tardiness…or maybe I’m just in time.

Appetizer
Name a color you find soothing.

Light blue or lavender. I know you see these a lot on schools and hospitals, but I really do think that they’re soothing colors.

Soup
Using 20 or less words, describe your first driving experience.

Terrifying! My mom pulled over and said “Drive!” I waited fifteen years for that moment…and froze!

Salad
What material is your favorite item of clothing made out of?

Hmm. I don’t know if I have a “favorite” clothing item. Is lingerie considered clothing? If so, then I”d have to say my blue satin panties. They are…wonderful!

Main Course
Who is a great singer or musician who, if they were to come to your town for a concert, you would spend the night outside waiting for tickets to see?

Oooh that’s tough! I’ll have to say The Eagles.

Dessert
What is the most frequent letter of the alphabet in your whole name (first, middle, maiden, last, etc.)?

E. I’ve got 5 e’s in my first, middle, maiden, last name. Excellent! :D

Wow, I haven’t done this in quite some time! So…here we go.

Appetizer
Invent a new flower; give it a name and describe it.
Dallas Ivy. It’s a creeping ivy-type plant with delicate purple buds all over it. The flowers smell sweet like pomegranites, and it grows well in any climate.

Soup
Name someone whom you think has a wonderful voice.
My friend Pris from Brazil. She’s got one of those sultry, honeyed voices and a fantastic accent.

Salad
On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being highest, how clean do you keep your car?
Hahahahaha!!! 4. The outside of my truck is always clean, but inside? LOL. I keep books and notes and pens and paper everywhere. I also keep extra shoes and a change of clothes, an emergency kit, and umbrella. Who needs passengers, anyway?

Main Course
How do you feel about poetry?
I love poetry about as much as I love music. I love the cadence and the flow of the words. I love to read as the words come together to build a story or an idea. The way words can evoke feelings or memories is really special.

Dessert
What was the last person/place/thing you took a picture of?
My cat. She was being a diva and had taken over my bed in order to bathe and preen like the queen that she is.

I haven’t done the Feast since October, so I thought I’d pick it back up, since I always enjoy it.

Appetizer
Which snack do you like to get when you go to the movies?
I like to get MilkDuds and popcorn. Eaten together, they taste like caramel corn. Plus you get the whole salty/sweet thing. Yum.

Soup
What year did you start using the internet?
1995, but I didn’t get my own computer until 1998.

Salad
What is your first name in Pig Latin? (Here’s how to speak it if you don’t already know!)
Ephaniestay

Main Course
Name something you are picky about.
Hmm, I’m pretty laid back about most things, so it’s hard to say. I guess I’m a little picky about the way towels are folded. They are to be folded in half, then half again, and then into thirds. ;)

Dessert
Fill in the blanks: I ____ ____ yesterday and I ____ ____ today.
I was fretting about my truck yesterday and I think I might have overreacted now that I have a clearer head today. (Well, that and the second, third, and fourth opinion always helps.)

Friday’s Feast Number 12

Oh how I love Fridays! It’s been a difficult week, and I’m glad to be at the end of it. It’s time for the Feast.

Appetizer
Name a great website you would recommend to others.
Most people already know about PostSecret, I look forward to new postcards every Sunday. I also enjoy Found. Okay, I’ll stop at two, otherwise I’ll get out of control and post half the links in my IE Favorites.

Soup
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 as highest), how often do you dream at night?
10. Definately. I dream every night, and usually long detailed dreams that run one into another sort of like a soap-opera. I don’t always remember every detail, but I can usually remember most…and the associated feelings. I’ve woken up out of dreams laughing, crying, shaking and terrified, and sometimes I wake up absolutely pissed off. For the most part I enjoy my dreams, though.

Salad
Did you have a pet as a child?  If so, what kind and what was its name?
The first pet that was ever “mine” and mine only was an AKA registered Miniature Schnauzer that my grandparents bought for me for my 11th birthday. She had a HUGE name, but the shortened name was Heidi. I got her in July that year, and my family moved to Mississippi in September. When we arrived, we realized that our house was about half a mile from the Gulf Coast, so the family decided we should take a visit down to the beach.

I’m not sure how progress and hurricanes have changed the coast, but in those days Highway 90 and the Mississippi Gulf Coast were locked in a tight embrace. The highway hugged so close to the water that there was scarecly room to park. My stepdad parked the car, and my brother and I bounded out of the back seat, Heidi in tow. We ran down to the edge of the water, where our noses were promptly assaulted by the foul odor of the filthy water and dead things on the sand. We turned back around to our parents, and started to walk back and tell them about our discovery of a dead fish that had HUMAN teeth (seriously, it was creepy!)

Anyway, when we began running towards my mom, Heidi got so excited in the commotion that she took off running, too. Only, when we stopped in front of my mom, my Heidi ran right out onto Highway 90 and met the underside of a White 1988 Pontiac Grand Prix. It was over in an instant, and my heart shattered into a million pieces.

Poor Heidi. Poor you, for having to read the longest answer to the shortest question.

Main Course
If you had the chance to star in a commercial, what would you choose to advertise?
LOL. I’d have to say I’d do adverts for Chevy Trucks. I’d make it part of my contract that I would get a new truck out of the deal on top of what I get paid for it. Ooooh, a brand new black Chevy Silverado 1500, extended cab stepside. Maybe a lift kit. *shivers*

Dessert
What is your favorite kind of hard candy?
Butterscotch! And to be more specific, Brach’s makes the best.
