Reasons to cry.

Filed under: miscellaneous — jktty @ 10:39 pm

I hit a bird today and cried for an hour. I was just going where I needed to go, but so were the birds. There were two of them, probably a pair, and I don’t know if I hit the male or the female, but when I looked in the rearview mirror…all I saw was feathers. How sad. I know it’s just a bird, and that they’re probably soulless creatures, but these were beautiful birds, and it broke my heart.

Or maybe I just needed a reason to cry.

Next week will be my last solo week in the office. The week after that, I’ll be training the temp who will sit in while I’m recovering from surgery. Everyone has been joking that I should train her well in case she turns into my replacement instead of a temp.

Speaking of my job…I was given a new title last week. I’m unofficially the “Sales Assistant.” I didn’t get a raise, it just means that I get to spend more time babysitting the sales kids. I think I’ve had more titles than anyone else in my office, and only one of them involved more money. I really must be doing something wrong.

I haven’t heard from Edgar since Tuesday afternoon, and I”m beginning to wonder if he’s pulling another disappearing act. If that’s the case, I don’t want to hear any I told you so’s. The first person to say it gets a fat lip. To be quite honest, when I think about how I’ll feel if he has decided he’s had enough of me (again)…it just makes me tired. Sad, and tired.

On another subject, I’ve asked all my friends to send me Christmas cards/postcards/letters. I’ll still be recovering at home during Christmas, and I’m thinking that a handful of postcards or letters would be really awesome. I use a PO box, so I don’t need any lectures about how dangerous it is to give my address, but if you’d like to send me mail…leave me a comment and I’ll send you my address. (You know you want to send me a postcard!)

It’s almost Friday, which means it’s almost the weekend. Weekends…are good.

I can’t believe I killed a bird.

  1. Awe man, I almost killed a squirrel. There are TONS of squirrels here, there is NO way you could drive through during the day without seeing a squirrel. And some of them running around are babies.. well, you know, under a year old. I don’t wanna kill the cute squirrels, I wanna have them live with me xD That would be awesome, a house full of squirrels =D

  2. That is so sad — I’ve knocked off a squirrel or two in my day and it always makes you feel like such hell, you know?

    I’ll send you a postcard!
